Shall I update indicators?

Hello again Has anyone here upgraded their indicators. One of mind has just gone and I'm toying with the idea of replacing them all with LED indicators. Maybe have the flush ones for the body. or blanking plates and try to find mirrors with indicators integrated for a 1997 storm (anybody done this?!...

Repairing my downpipes

Hi guys I mentioned on another thread about the exhaust blowing from under the seat towards my inner thigh. Basically it gets hot on your leg, (1997 black storm) uncomfortably hot. Stuck my hand in the gap (to explain it best its round about where you would put a rear hugger in if you had one) and s...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

I'm just off from the Pentagon island at the minute. Might be moving at some point but normally at places like Robin Hood Harley, CMC, Chesterfield if I get bored etc and now this thing is up and running i might try and get to MFN a bit more and the vic in Coalville. Would go Matlock a fair bit but ...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

Yeah I thought it was. But that doesn't matter does it? Still better than the stock one aint it?

Mosfet one will be a future upgrade for sure but just want to avoid famous VTR problems for now.

Re: Black Storm From Derby

All of that for a little gasket? Might be a bit beyond me that one. Aint got the right tools/stuff to do it either. I did already download the manual though. So I'll take a look anyway and see what my options are. It is working fine as it is but just blows a little bit out of that section. Passed MO...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

It doesn't look too clever to be honest, bit grubby. No idea what it says on it. I will have a look when it arrives. I knew it wasn't Mosfet but from my understanding the standard R1/R6 ones work fine, and not too hard to wire up. Does it HAVE to be Mosfet? it was this one . . . http://www.ebay.co.u...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

Me too. I have a few weeks off work so it makes sense to give it a go. However I dont want to be without a bike for that long in the nice weather and I don't want to get things wring and cause further damage. I can be a little heavy handed sometimes and make things worse     How...

Re: Black Storm From Derby

I think I might have one of these lying around somewhere from when I bought the downpipes for the cbr. How exactly do perform this job then? (sorry to sound thick) similarly for the rear shock check. can anyone link me to a good resource or offer a quick explanation? That diagram was really good. It...

Thanks for the links (even though I already read em haha) I think its a confidence issue more than anything. Anyone nearby is welcome to assist me. Especially if they've done a couple before...

Re: Black Storm From Derby

Yeh I did some research and reading and I'll take a look today. It looks like the CCTs are stock and I got a very helpful email this morning from a forum member recommending a guy in Holland (Thank you!) I'll check the R/R today. It currently has racing footpegs on it so I'll swap them out for origi...

Black Storm From Derby

Hello all My father left me his black 1997 VTR and it had stood for around 4 years. After quite a bit of work fixing all the old bodges on it and finally getting it running again I'm happy to say it is on the road again. It still needs a lot doing to it. (may do the CCTs and R/R as a matter of cauti...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

I'm in the same boat here. Just fixed up my late father's VTR after 4 years and it looks like it has stock Cam chain tensioners on it. (don't really have the time or confidence to take everything apart myself) If I can get hold of some good ones and a good place/garage/person to fit them (I'm in Der...
