Re: larger oil cooler?

Four row oil cooler? I just used braided lines on the sp1 std outlets and let it sit where it wants to- one of the SP1 bolt holes lines up with the Storm mounting and seems to hold it perfectly well. 4 degree advancer, high comp JE's and a home-brewed airbox- runs in the lower half of the gauge at ...

larger oil cooler?

anyone find one that bolts up pretty simple? i know the 4 row RC51 unit will but one of the connections is turned 45 degrees and must be cut off and rewelded to fit the VTR. i dont really wanna go spend $75 to have someone do that but double the surface area for oil cooling would be nice since she s...

Re: single throttle cable mod ??

does give a much better throttle actuation. but as stated previously, make sure everything on your setup works properly as you will no longer be able shut the throttle closed. althought you shouldnt have any problems because for 90 years, bikes only used one cable ( my 89 gixxer 750 only uses a pull...

Re: Webcam camshaft specs. do i need aftermarket springs?

Those specs are very similar to the Yoshimura Stage 1 cams (including identical ramp profiles for both; Yosh are 250 degree duration and 10.7mm lift IIRC). The only thing I wonder about is that the Mori and Yosh timing specs are measured at 0.040 lift (IIRC) whereas these are at 0.050 (seems to be ...

Re: Webcam camshaft specs. do i need aftermarket springs?

ive talked to Roger and he assured me there is no need for aftermarket springs in my case. for anyone who is wondering in the future, Roger said that its not really until you get to 11.0 mm of lift that you need springs.

so good news for me in that these cams shall be going in today :biggrin

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I did some quick calcula]ions and this should help me drop an additional 10 lbs of rotating weight compared to my already light PVM magnesium rims.... free hp :) Have read that braking is wicked too.... thats nuts considering you were already running mag wheels. believe it or not my buddy had to di...

Re: What are HH pads like cold?

Ebc Hh are good cold and have a good bite . But my suggestion is get on level ground first before loading up as this will give you a little time just to do safety checks in the breaks  good call plus slow speed maneuvering is much harder with a passanger. but +1 on the EBC HH's. they are s...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Got the new carriers from Braketech, so I proceeded to disassemble the blades from the GSX-R carriers and reassembling them onto the new carriers. I then mounted them up to the Dymag carbon front rim....... light does not begin to describe how little the combo weighs. Can't wait to mount it up and ...

Re: Webcam camshaft specs. do i need aftermarket springs?

i asked the girl on the phone at webcams and she said she wasnt sure because her records didnt show it. all she had was that timing card on file. now these cams were involved in a CCT failure, and i have the valve springs that were in the other motor with these cams. they are goldish in color so i K...

Webcam camshaft specs. do i need aftermarket springs?

finally got these puppies in the mail thanks to a great member across the pond. got in touch with WEBCAM and they are a custom grind that isnt listed on their site. they sent me over the timing card. what i am wondering is if i need aftermarket valve springs as they seem pretty on par with Mori STG1...

cam spec question. moriwaki. webcam.

Anyone know the specs on stage 2 moriwaki cams? Just purchased a set of stock cams that have had the hardweld treatment from WebCams. Now I know that they will do custom applications as in you give them specs and they will make it for you. They do have a "standard" grind/weld on their webs...

Re: Swing arm flex?

Yea Carl, that article more so pertained to the bikes chassis being set up for tires of the era. The hawk came with Dunlop's mostly and sometimes Michelin's off the showroom floor. The manual says exactly what kind. So tires in 97 are very different than a set of Q3s especially in sidewall construct...

Re: Swing arm flex?

I didn't really realize I had flex until I did my fork swap. Then it became obvious the flex was there. As stated the fireblade brace isn't gonna make it a motogp swingarm but that's not what you want on the storm anyways. The brace gives a little added confidence in the rear. Just enough to go a li...
