Re: Black Storm From Derby

Already doing ok. Restored quite a lot of bits and fixed some major bodges that were found on it (from the person who had it several owners ago) It has taken a lot of work to get back on the road and I have a fair bit left to do. CCT's next, exhaust downpipe repair, Reg/Rec, stock pegs to go on, ful...

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

From my reckoning it is about a 90 minute ride to your town. (don't know exactly where you live though - PM me if you can because I can't message you) If I can get my sh*t together and sort it all out I'll give it a shot. However a busy weekend may scupper this. I would definitely like some help and...

Re: What are the best footpegs.

Oh yeah and the wet does make them atrocious as you say. Its not that I dislike them at all. I just think life will be easier and a little more comfortable with stock footpegs. It is really useful to read everyone's varying accounts on this. I think I'll go for stock, Seems like more vibration reduc...

Re: What are the best footpegs.

Yeh on ebay I can get a set for about 19 quid. just wondering if there are any good sets before I spring for an OEM set. For example you can get stock brake and clutch levers but you can also get ASV ones. just wondered if there was a similar thing for footpegs for this particular bike. I'm not much...

What are the best footpegs.

Just doing my shopping list and I would like to know what people regard as the better footpegs for a 1997 storm. It has got aftermarket sporty billet ones on it, but they make your feet buzz like a good un. I don't have high level exhausts and I like em that way so I don't need to consider those sor...

Re: Repairing my downpipes

Ok so I measured the pipe coming from the engine (couldn't measure any further down the pipe) and it comes to 141mm which using the equation C=πD it comes to ≈ 45mm The outside of the clamp already on it is 60-63mm (so a 60mm should work, perhaps a little small to make sure it clamps down enough. Ob...

Re: Repairing my downpipes

To be fair the pipes themselves are in good nick for the age. Probably been replaced a few times.

What size w4 clamp am I getting then cus there's a huge choice on fleabay. You can buy kits but they work out more expensive than buying the stuff separately.

Re: Bet you can't guess what I want help with.

Yes I think it is this Saturday though and I'm working both Friday and Saturday night, which makes it a little problematic or that would have been an ideal solution.

Whereabouts in the midlands?

Re: CCT in Midlands (or close enough to travel to)

Saturday afternoon is a bit of a pain for me as I'm sound engineering Fri-Sat evening. I'm free Sunday if anyone local can help?

Might need of list of tools/lubes/greases needed for the job too. So i can stock up before I start anything.

Bet you can't guess what I want help with.

Hi All I don't think i can do this alone without cocking it up. I'm good like that. So I need some help in person from someone in the know. I have the manual CCTs (cheers Ade) and I have read through the guide on here (which is excellent by the way) but I am still lacking confidence in performing th...

Re: Exhaust Baffled

This is something I had been wondering myself. Are they genuine? I did a lot of looking around and came out inconclusive. You're right there is no port to attach a db killer, one would have to be drilled and I don't fancy that. I do have the stock cans but I don't want to take these off. I can live ...
