Bet you can't guess what I want help with.

Post by Metalmad18 »

Hi All

I don't think i can do this alone without cocking it up. I'm good like that. So I need some help in person from someone in the know.

I have the manual CCTs (cheers Ade) and I have read through the guide on here (which is excellent by the way) but I am still lacking confidence in performing this mandatory upgrade.

Is there anyone close by that I can ride to that can show me how to do this? or better still come to me? (not sure I have the right tools though)

For some reason i just do not trust a garage to do this as it is a very specific problem and I don't like the thought of a garage's one size fits all attitude. In fact I got ripped off by one garage when they replaced the cam chain on my van, cocked it up by doing it wrong, causing further damage and then forcing me to pay for the extra work to get my van back.

If it was any old bike then I would give a it a shot using the guide, but because it holds some sentimental value I want it to be done right. There's a lot of bits to do on it which I could do alone but this I think is a top priority.

Anyone available to help? I'm sure I could arrange some kind of payment/compensation for your time.

cheers everyone.

Yes I think it is this Saturday though and I'm working both Friday and Saturday night, which makes it a little problematic or that would have been an ideal solution.

Whereabouts in the midlands?

Working schedule is really making this a pain in the butt.

I really need to get these CCT's done but I do not trust my self (or a garage) to do them alone. I know I keep going on about it but I ned to get em done before something goes wrong and then I'm truly screwed for a few weeks whilst I get it fixed.

Anyone local to Derby who has done manual CCT's? I would really appreciate the help. And some compensation for your time of course.
