Re: SV 1000 v VTR 1000

Changed from Storm to SV and the Suzuki was a better bike all round (sorry folks). Honda's fault for barely updating the Storm. Handling more sorted, sweeter gearbox, modern insrtuments and fuel injection, giving 45mpg. Engine not as sweet as Storm, less rumble, more vibes. I went for the fully fair...

Re: La Belle France

OK, another one to add to my list of "if you only ride one col" . Had a bit of a ride around the other day and went over Cime de Bonnet - highest in Europe at 2802 metres (9100 feet). Felt like you could touch the clouds and the ride down to Barcellonette was spectacularly beautiful...

Re: La Belle France

Don`t know how much coverage of the Tour de France you get (blanket here of course) but the Tour is covering the route described above today, so you may get a glimpse of what you`re missing - in this case, torrential rain :(

Couldn`t agree more. I`ve just joined France Bikers.com (for obvious reasons) but there is no way I`m abandoning you lot. Real people, real issues - keep it up all. xx

ps - said I`d be on more now I`ve got the new laptop :D

Re: La Belle France

Hi all, gone and bought a little netbook. Runs really fast and has 10 hour battery; So, you might have to put up with more French posts. You`ll be amused to know that the rain has finally arrived here, after 3 drought months - no complaints though,it was getting close to water wars down here!

Re: La Belle France

Hi all, First off, thanks Kaz for the welcome note. I’d like to get on here more often, but living in the sticks we don’t have broadband (or even a phoneline) and the nearest Wifi point is at the supermarket 14km away. By the time Haze’s old laptop has done it’s start-up routine and download...

La Belle France

Well, the year`s really moving along. Feels like midsummer here and the farmers are already using sprinklers `cos its only rained three days so far this year. Any of you fancy coming on down to our neck of the woods this year? As ever, you`re welcome to stay and get a guided tour of some of the fine...

More from France

Hi all, I expect you're heartily sick of me banging on about the joys of France but here I go again! Just got back from a) a holiday visiting castles in the Languedoc and b) a bike tour round Mt Blanc. On both occasions some stunning countryside was visited - though I didn't help my cause by doing a...

Mugello Madness

Tim and Pete will be back in the UK soon, so expect a complete update on the highs and lows of their Big Adventure. I got to join in for a while thanks to a free ticket courtesy of Dave and his knackered shoulder. Going to a MotoGP wouldn't normally be on my radar, so a BIG cheer and get well soon t...

Message for Timbo (and others) re: Chauvac

Hi there, sorry not been on for a while. What's the state of play re: Mugello, given Dave's current state (sorry to hear about that). You are of course welcome to spend some time in our little corner of paradise and bring some friends. Been doing a bit more building work, so we can accomodate up to f...

Re: Been and gone and done it.

Thanks all for your congrats (bike and Wedding). All I can say about the TTR is that it's ann absolute hoot. Riding it on the road is so unimtimidating - makes you remember what we've lost in our quest for speed and flash. Right takes me back to my early days of biking - hopefully without the oil le...
