Although it's so shiny & nice I may have to invest in some overpriced polish n stuff to keep it sparkling. I'll have to keep me eye out for some buckets at the side of the road...

Yep. If it starts going slower due to the amount of grit and mud, just ride it through puddles for a few days.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

It seems you my friend have the same cleaning policy I have... My bike gets a wash with the hose once a year, if it's needed or not... Usually not...
