WW1 sites April /May 2017
Hi.
Anybody up for a trip to see the WW1 sites in April/May next year? I will be going on a friday morning its and coming back on a monday lunch time etc, it will depend on Ferry and boat times and where from. I will have a Pillion who may need to stop a bit for Helmet Hair, but on the whole she is ok.

Is it a reenactment?
You might need more than just Mac to help you or the result might be different this time round.
Having been to a beer festy yesterday, I can help with the poison gas if you want to nip round with a balloon and a compressor.
Anything to help our boys at the front ( by supporting from the rear, of course).
I could knit you a fiddler sock over the winter?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Or let the Germans bring WW1 over here in one of their dastardly lightweights...
Such a quiet village when I lived there.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That is something I'd definitely be interested in, will have to check nearer the time if I can get a leave pass from the wife but am up for it in principle Paul
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

What an interesting thing to visit. I was going to say nice but I don't think that would be the right word. If I could afford it I would love to visit some places like that but not much chance, and if I had the money, right now I think I would rather visit some WW3 sites. Maybe I could be dropped out of a plane then again I could land on a dessert Island along with some discs. Anything but this country and lifesyle. Somewhere more simplified with no worries, a roof and some food and not having to pay for the land accept for in work. A quacker and farming style lifestyle sounds good right now as I'm going quackers. Maybe I should become a monk. Could I fake believing in God
So what sites are you thinking of then Paul. France, Belgium, Italy ?

Passiondale and Ypres for sure, also the village in France thats been totally left since the War where the Germans killed all the Village, men and women separately. Ive been once before but 30 years ago. basically just a tour for 4 days etc. a boat from poole to Cherbourg then up to Ypres and stuff on the way, we will stay on Marmots about 39 euro a night clean, small and basic.

I done that trip with the school some 35 or so years ago and always said I'd go back again. The school still does the grip as my daughter went on it 3 or 4 years ago.
