Jamoi's Storm.. No.2!

Post by Jamoi »

After receiving a little bonus from the Tax man, I figured there's only one thing I can think of spending it on.. another Storm!

Just got home from collecting what can only be described as the slowest coloured Storm ever! Yellow & blue Smokin' Joe's replica

It was bit of an impulse buy, having spotted it on fleabay last Thurs, I had won the auction that same night without looking at it or quizzing the owner (who turned out to be a top bloke).

Since my 1st trackday a couple of weeks ago, I figured it would be nice to book up a few more and take a bike which isn't so precious to me, so I can push it further and remove that 30% safety cushion from my riding, hence the purchase of this old smokey dog

I got it for less than a C90 would go for on fleabay :wtf: so I didn't expect much, but my 1st impressions are generally good, much better than anticipated.

I've dumped the multi coloured beast in the Shitecave for tonight, ready for a good wash/strip/inspection in the morning

Plans are: full service, track fairings & Supercorsa's...

OR evil looking streetfighter/track hack/winter hack :)

I'll report back after a good look tomorrow but here's some pics* from the Shitecave...

*WARNING: Jamoi can not accept responsibility for the burning of viewers retinas or the instant desire to end it all, after looking at the following images.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Obvious things which need addressing are: Tatty bodywork, tatty seat cover, auto ccts @ 40k miles 8O, horrible high level scorpions, general bit of tlc.

All in all, I'm STOKED!! :) Got another Storm project for peanuts and most of the bits required are lying around in the cave!

 I'm sure that WILL happen! I've got a 9k mile engine in a box tucked away somewhere, a guy in my local club offered it to me for free otherwise it was going in the skip 8O

You're right, it needs a name...

Help me pick one from the list of Muppets characters: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppet_Show

I'm quite drawn to "Gorgon the heap"

i'd call it daisey.
i'd keep it simple mate, strip of as much as possible, put a daytime mot on it and make it a trackbike.
get hold of some cheap fairings or buy some race fairings, ditch all the lights and indi's, put a cheap set of cans with baffles in them on. sticky tyres and away you go.
then you can improve things as you go, like rearsets, chain and sprocket, i'd get the forks rodgered. before you know it you'll have a tranny, tyre warmers, slicks and a ferking big grin on your face....
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Nice one, I quite like the colour coded mirrors, they work well with the yellow, the rest of the colours are scary
And you are right, the Angle of the pipes isn't working.

Looking forward to photos of your mum helping with the rebuild. Just a bit of oil on her nose like a 90's Pirelli calendar :)

It's purple not blue.

Don't tarnish the poor bike with a degrading slower colour.

It's probable got a complex already being called a shitter...

As for a Muppet name...
