Hello Folks.
I wonder if anyone experiences the same thing as me? I own a bog standard '03 'storm. On closing the throttle, or on "blipping" the throttle, the engine hesitates around the 2000rpm point before falling to 1400rpm. Not a major problem. Just wondered.
There is a rubber "piston" atached to the carbs and if it is faulty or perished you will get these syptoms as the vacuum doesn't drop the throttle slides.
Sorry about the non tech explanation, but I had a similar thing a few years ago.
Yep, assuming you can hear a "click" as you slam the throttle shut and the carbs aren't WAY out (one stays open when the other slams shut) then it's a carb fault.
Or a leaky vacuum?
Worth checking the pipes under the tank....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Won't be the pipes under the tank. If the vacuum pipe etc is duff then you won't get fuel to the carbs, that's all. The others are the fuel pipes themselves and the breather and overflow.
