Least the TVR was the fastest colour!
Just cos you're an Admin, think you can just run rough shod through a thread willy nilly hither 'n' thither!!
Right then smarty pants - can you remove Chris' vote from 'never' and add it to the 'not in the forseeable future' bit?
Well can ya? Huh? Huh? Can ya?

I loved my Storm, did a fair few miles in all conditions on her I was sorry to see her go but she had reached a limit with me and I wouldn't have another one.......unless.. they modernised her
Give me that same V-Twin grunt with some fuel injection and good suspenders from new and I'd be there

LOLI am able to remove users though

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
I don't come on the forum for a few months and you've sold your storm againVTR1000KAZ wrote:I've twice lost my storms now!
I will probably get another one if I find the right one ( has to be the old colour yellow) or.. I saw a very nice Benelli tre-k amazonas in a bike shop a few weeks back.. more upright.. so might help my neck/shoulder pains.
but will have to see how my new job goes
but I do miss my Storm
BTW a mate of mine has a TreK and loves it but there are a few reliability issues with them.
I also voted never to get rid, I've had her 5 years now and with more plod more cameras etc she makes more sense now than ever.
Max
Well, I voted "don't miss it" which ain't entirely true as after 5 and a half years together and over 30 thousand miles I was rather attached.
The SV really does do every thing better but it does not have the growl of the 'Storm even with race cans fitted, as yet I haven't set one car alarm off
I did think about buying a newer lower mileage one but unfortunately they are starting to look a bit dated IMO.
I guess after 3 chain and sprocket replacements, a regulator rectifier replacement, 3 batteries, the dreaded cam chain tensioner incident, loads of tyres and one crash i'll always remember the storm fondly, maybe a bit like an ex girlfriend who I maybe should have married or something. With the exception of an unhappy 11 months with a 600 Diversion I remember all my bikes fondly and if possible I would have kept them all in my fantasy quadrupal sized garage
The SV is like a blank canvas waiting to be sorted, a world of power commanders and timing retard eliminators and plenty of bodywork improvements, wether it stays with me for 5 years is yet to be seen.
Who knows, Honda may bite on the 1200 cc twin idea soon and then I could well be back

I do miss it, well both of em as I've had two. BUT I don't think I'd have another one, mainly because the handling got on my nerves. Neither of mine ever really handled like I wanted them to, despite having rogered forks and (on the second one) a revalved/sprung proflex shock. Loved the grunt, to the extent that every bike I've had and probably ever will have gets measured against the storm as a grunt 'yardstick'
Now with me 92 torques though I ain't exactly slumming it

I'd miss mine, cause if it wasn't there in the morning I'd have to walk to work.
And there's something about a big v-twin on straight-throughs......
Even the old bill like the noise so you don't get pulled.
I'm sure they have you off an il4 with straight-throughs and help you down the cell stairs in a flash!
Maybe it's the difference between grumbling and shouting?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

i miss mine it had a presence
it shouted at everything in its path
"im here move over" in its straight thru micron voice
i only had it a year and we were still teaching each other little tricks
i made it beat things from the lights and let it shout loudly
and it showed me how it liked to ballance on the back wheel
im still not in regular work and have no bike at all 1st time in years
and its painfull ....
