lighting problem

Post by pstormer »

Has anyone had a problem with their side lights and clock lights coming on when they pull their front brake. Just noticed that mine is doing this. Any advice/help would be appreciated.
cheers

That'll be a couple of wires in the loom rubbing together which has worn throught the insulation then

If you've got a multimeter and a manual, check for continuity between the brake light wire and the instruments to confirm

If you haven't, take off the bodywork and have a good long look at the loom, probably where it goes back to the engine from the headstock. You're looking for any signs of it having been squashed. Then remove the black tape so you can see the individual wires and inspect each one, looking for worn insulaltion

Sadly there's unlikely to be any short cuts

Hope this helps
