rev counter not working or intermittent
What's likely to be the cause of this?
Re: rev counter not working or intermittent
it is an intermittent electrical issues, but I would start by looking for a bad earth connection

Check your battery terminals are tight as well. I know it sounds daft but something as simple as that can cause all sorts of crap.

Did you sort this? I had an errant tacho needle, it was showing like I was on a 2 stroke (off the scale)or nothing, I removed all the wires off the back of the instrument cluster and cleaned them up with my dremel. Seemed to do the trick.

Re: rev counter not working or intermittent
When I had this it was in fact not the battery terminals being loose but the connection at the main fuse was loose.
