Re: We have a winner...
Great job Malc. We'll done.
Re: We have a winner...
cheers
I got 3 wins over the weekend and 1 second, unfortunately the lap record was short lived, it got beat by less than a tenth of a second I improved my lap time time but couldn't quite take it back, the rear tyre was passed it's best, had some great racing though and it's really nice to get some wins again.
It's been some time, I last won in 2014, stopped racing then and in 2017 built the VFR, took it out twice late in the season to test it then thought I'd go for a season in 2018, first meeting highsided and broke my hand which took a long time to heal so that season was done for. This year has been about bike set up (should have had it sorted last year), small adjustments here and there and finally this weekend the bike felt good. hoping I can continue going well for the rest of the season now, it's not easy and there's some very fast riders.
*Honda 1988 VFR750 RC24 with Firestorm complete front end and rear wheel*
I still take my old XJ out too in the 600 proddy class, it's out classed by the fastest FZ's but such a fun bike to ride, I got 6th place in all races which is better than I thought I could do on it.

Rock On Popkat
What was the final key to getting the set up right. You were struggling quite a bit with the rear shock travel at castle Combe

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
Re: We have a winner...
A bit of carb work but mainly work on the rear shock, just set up stuff really, been making adjustments but not getting far, had a bit of a rethink and seemed to get it right this time. Things is it's easy not to make the changes in case you get it wrong, but time came to try something out and glad I did.
Just hope the set up works at other tracks too.
As for wet set up, its still a fair way off, pray for dry races
