The fruit of my labour...
The fruit of my labour...
Here is the end result of many years of OCMD, tinkering, experimenting, eBay purchases... Bike is now perfectly sorted (gas mileage is back up to over 18 km/L, throttle response is instant, power is wicked, handling is tight and predictable, braking is insane, and comfort and front end feedback are at all-time high thanks to bar swap). Nothing left to do now (except perhaps vinyl wrap the forks black at some point). Now, I can focus on riding... and enjoying

Re: The fruit of my labour...
Looks awesome! Well done, the front end looks especially good!
If it's broken; should it move? Yes: Use WD40 No: Use cable ties. Now it's fixed!

Re: The fruit of my labour...
Looks good, but I'm more interested in how you get 18 km/l.
That's over 50 MPG.
Meaning 12 litres (roughly when my fuel light comes on) will get you 135 miles.
How is that possible?
I'm lucky to see 90 miles between fuel lights, and a couple of weeks ago chasing through Scotland, it was as low as 75 miles before the light.

Re: The fruit of my labour...
finely tuned jetting, massively reduced rotating weight (and static too), increased compression (over 12:1), better bearings, engine coatings... everything has been optimised to the best of my ability.... Of course this is not track-day use, but rest assured that I roll on the throttle every chance I get, just to feel the rush of power (the climb from 90 to 140+ km/h is quite quick ); carving around long lines of cars is quite a rush.....Miztaziggy wrote:Looks good, but I'm more interested in how you get 18 km/l.
