My Work Ho
This is my Yamaha Thundercat that is my all year round bike. Purchased it a couple of years ago in the black and white colours and got bored of the colours after a year. it also had 35000 on the clocks so thought it could do with some TLC. So began the strip down and rebuild of the engine and a refurb and recolour of the bike. No performance mods to speak of just cosmetics. Did go 2 up on rear sprocket and Art can but that's it. All sprayed with no stickers at all. I put a bit of the gold metallic in the black to give it a subtle gold flicker in the sun.

Re: My Work Ho
This was my first attempt with 2pak paint and lacquer and a spray gun. Took a while learning the settings for the air as is different for the dusting coat, the wet coats and also for paint vs lacquer but once that was worked out it's not that hard. Over a year on and the finish still looks as good as the day it went on. This pushed me in the direction I'm heading now with custom spray jobs. Just about up and running now so things hopefully will pick up and I can give up my day job lol.

It's a great little bike, starts first time every time whatever the weather. Needed a bit more acceleration so going 2 up on the rear helped and after the rebuild and gearing up it actually will pull a power wheelie in 1st gear, especially if the Mrs is on the back. Not bad for a 93ish bhp 600 lol

No problems with this one yet.
Second gear will go either due to clutchless shifting, banging through the gears or lack of oil/oil changes.
I rag the balls off mine and have done for the last 21000 that I've put on her, only did the engine rebuild as thought why not, Only replaced one lot of rings (as I bent one putting it back together) and new gaskets. Cleaned up the pistons, valves and relapped the valves and seats, checked clearences (which were all in spec) checked gears, shift forks, cylinders and all were good, put her back together. Did compression and leakdown test before putting her back in and all was good there as well.
