Gave up on the paint, I want it to be good so I sent it to the pros.

I only want to do this once and I want it right.

Get it back on Saturday.

Will fit and post pics.

Yes I am disappointed, however it has to be right from the get go as I have other things to do and time waits for no one!

After much tribulation and many beverages its done! YESssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Here are some random pics, I also fitted high mount can brackets and rear sets as well as a hugger.

I am very happy with the whole exercise and particularly like the angle of the pipes.

I got the brackets from precision in the U.K and the pipes are now 2" higher and 2" more inboard.

The hugger sets it of nicely as do the rear sets.

I am now going to fit a clear tail light with inbuilt blinkers to tidy up the butt end.

Once again thanks to all that have posted on this subject and to those that first attempted this modification.

Now it's time for a few of these and then a few more while I admire my handy work.

They are value for money, took a bit of setting up.

Still mucking around with them to get the brake and gear lever in a good position for me.

Only been on a short ride so far however one thing for sure the gear linkage set up is far superior to the standard item.

Shifts are much more precise.

Sweet :-) I keep hearing good reviews now all the parts are with them and now I might treat myself next year to some for the road bike .

Been for a longer ride just now, over the mountain and back.

Bike feels more planted on the gas around corners for sure.

The front and the back seem to work together now.

Looks great now it's done....I must get on and finish mine this winter, just debating whether to weld the brace to my existing swinger, or get a clean 2nd hand swinger and mod it.
Trouble is I can't find 2nd had ones that are not scratched or corroded , so I guess that makes the decision a no brainier.

Need to order some new bearings and a new link for my chain

If you're going to powder coat it after the brace is welded on then why worry about the condition?
Blend everything in and then the PC will hide it all.

Kenmore, I'd suggest for peace of mind taking all the preload off and riding it up and down some kerbs, not to damage the rims or tyres, but to make sure that the links clear the SA at the extremes of movement.

I found that mine pushed the LH side off the system to link pipe join- it looked ok, but when ridden hard it fouled.
Worth a check.
