GOODBYE VTR

Sad day today, my vtr is now subject to a deposit on a possible sale Ive sold it with everything including my quick shifter . The buyer is away at present and has put money down till he returns a week on wednesday to collect and pay in full

At this point i have also put down some cash on another vtwin, I wont be leaving this forum, cos where would i find another bunch of guys and gals like ya selves , Like KAZ i have to live my dream for now, but eventually i will be on a VTR again especially if they release a new model

anyway here is the dream i wanna live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good choice, i have owned a 748bp, 748sp and 916/955 jobbie best handling bike i have ever ridden, not the quickest and probably not as punchy as the storm but they are good fun and for me was fairly comfy.

My fave bike was 748sp which i raced for a couple of years with mixed results due to reliablity, i had 2 cam belt failures but that dukes for ya.

If the bikes been unused or standing for any length of time you need to change the belts as they dry up and crack which leads to failure.

Piece of piss to work on but you do need the special ducati tools though. All my duke bits and bobs went on ebay last year when cleared the garage out but still think i have the oil filter tool and a complete throttle housing somewhere.

Kaz, i think your right there! I still slightly regret accepting the deposit on my storm, cos each time i look at her she looks so luvly , and yes i will be back to a storm, but i want a totally sorted one next time, so i dont need to do any mods , Does any one have the download for the ducati manual?

Its the 748s with the showa fork set up. 1999 with 19k on the clock. Had it three week nearly, and boy is it a demon It corners like an angel, i would hate to see what the 749 could do.!

I went on a Ducati open day and test rode the 999 a few weeks ago, you're right they certainly do handle well, very well,
