Original shock

Post by T8ull »

Hi troops

Would my 2001 storm have come with a Showa shock as factory or has someone kindly upgraded this for me at some point?

Voyage number two today, still treading carefully with her, absolute dream machine though. Take a while to get warm don't they? so I take a three mile detour to warm her up! Turned the screw to push up the idle speed to nearer 1500, any comments on this. I also want to lose my Beowulf cans and fit the originals, any comments on this? I just like them all original, less bling. Or am I being too conservative!

I have originals as well, may pop the beowulfs on eBay in due course, will keep you posted. Race cans arn't for everyone, I had an art can on a previous bike, again hated it! Prefer to ambush fellow riders people quietly

Let it warm it up before riding it, I personally do anyway and always have / will regardless of what bike i'm on.

i also have my idle at 1100 -1200 rpm

Yeah, my '99 is cold blooded even in mild winter temps here in AZ! I give it plenty of warm up time. My idle is set for 900 though. Learned how to control choke during startup and warmup!
