Hi Jens ,
Yes i would say it is a good idea

Having said that ,there is a member of this forum who had done 100,000 miles before cam-chain tensioner (cct) failure ,but others have broke at only 2,000 miles.

There are various ways you could do this ,you could either....1/ fit new Honda cct's ,
2/ fit new Honda cct's with the stopper modification
3/ Convert your old Honda cct's into manual cct's,by fitting a bolt through them.
4/ Buy new 'Ape' manual cct's ,either from America or here in the uk. Poss a dealer in your country?

There are loads of threads on the forum about each of these options listed ,just do a search ,instructions to modify are all there :)

Undo the middle bolt (big one/center one) stick a screwdriver into it and hold it there, now rev the bike, if the screw driver turns then your CCT is on its way out i was told at work.
