It's hair - I'd pay big money for that nowadays. She's just showing off.

She's not that bad - a six pint-er??!!

(I must point out I am joking. 8 pints)

Ive always liked the look of those TDMs but i think i would get bored quick and prefer some sort of supermoto wheelie machine! Had a TDM850 MkII before the storm and think they're VERY under-rated bikes. They need liberating with a free flowing pipe (Laser Pro-stock) and then I found it great fun t...

Thats more like it - Remus to the rescue

Morning VTR people, Since getting my VTR last summer, I have to admit I have been quite disappointed with the engine. I know this might be a controversial statement to make round here, but there you go. Felt strangled and unresponsive. Most unhappy. Since it's mainly for commuting, I put up with it ...

Mentioned the meet to the Missus tonight and she seemed rather keen to get rid of me for a while - so a tentative hands up here for coming.

I would have voted "Don't mind", but think the poll is clsed or summat.

Cool.

I can never decide whether to do for the good stuff or not. Logic says that the octane rating is the fuels resistance to detonating - the higher the octane, the harderit is to detonate. Thats why high comression engines will benefit. But the VTR isn't high compression at all, so surely it'd only mak...

Just a quick note to vioce my agreement that the Storm can get a bit flightly on the gas on bumpy roads. Yes - had steering head bearings checked, new tyres etc. It's just how it is, bless it. You could argue that I should learn to ride better (been riding 20years and of those 20years commute daily ...

As others have mentioned, it's a very personal lthing and depends on conditions/riding style/expectations as to what works for different people. But here's my thoughts: I've got BT014s on at the moment and haven't got any complaints at all. I hated BT020s - wet grip was particularly poor, which is o...

Yeah, agree with Timbo - looks pretty cool, but I think I'd rather have a shiny swingarm than a red one. I certainly think there's been a few overly harsh remarks. Just because it's not against any particular rules to be so scathing, it doesn't make it ok, if you know what I mean. Oh and it's clear ...

Yeah - the crap mirrors are real pain for me. Do a fair bit of motorway riding daily and I hate not having a good view behind me. The winter jacket doesn't help either.

I'm very suprised by the collective thumbs up for the double bouble. When I got my Firestorm, it had a higher screen (not db though) and the turbulance is terrible! I keep meaning to get round to get a standard one back on but: 1) I only think of it on the bike 2) It LOOKS better than stock, althoug...

Allo Jon and welcome too!

RGV! Aah yes- fantastic! Agree with Stormin Ben! It's funny that the RGV and VTR are both sport bikes, but couldn't be more different. It'sa shame the KR1s, RGV, TZRs etc didn't stay around - I guess emission regs put pay to them.

Anyway - welcome!

Re: Stalling on tickover

I have raised the tickover to over 1000 and this reduces problem but I'd like any suggestions to solve it? Shouldn't the Firestorm tickover be at 1200rpm ish anyway? If you've RAISED it to 1000rpm, then I'd imagine it is conking out. My VTR dies occasionally too at traffic lights, but I think it's ...

That the exact same paint job as mine (apart from the black bit at the front round the headlight)!
