Currently running on Dunlop Sportmax D207F's. I dunno if they are any good in the wet with full tread, I know that a worn one is a bit twitchy.....
Rear is squared off due to lots of motorway miles.
I want the best all rounder tyre. What is it and will it be compatible with my Sportmax front?

Because I ride my bike all through the winter I wanted tyres that were specifically good in the wet and after quite a bit of research went for 208's.
When they need changing after the winter will prob go back to BT014's

Think most my riding this year has been on wet roads and they grip like hell, even more of a blast on dry, they seem to stick forever. never had one moment from them in several thousand miles!!

Always used Dunlops on the Storm and never had a problem with them.
Use Bridgestone Battlax on the SP1 - cus it came with them. They wear quick but are brilliant. They do twitch occcasionally, but this is probably down to me or the SP just being more aggressive.

Tyres are such a personal choice. When I got my bike it had mis matched tyres so I replaced them with Sportec M1's. Supposed to be good in the wet, but tbh I've not done much riding in the rain so can't really comment. They have been sure footed in the wet stuff when I've been caught out in it and they stick like sh1t to a blanket in the dry. Probably more grip than I've got bottle. They seem to suit the 'storm and my riding.
Downside is that I'm needing a rear every 3 odd K miles and a new front every other rear. Fun wearing them out though...

On the road I could not tell the difference between an 012 rear and an 020 rear. Before it was written off it looked like I was going to get at least 1500 nore miles out of the 020 compared to the 012.Jaglifter wrote:Fireman,
How did you find the B020? I was thinking of using one for the rear. BT014 just wears out so quick.
I did the Indy circuit at Brands with the 012 front 020 rear and the bike felt perfectly planted.

I found the 020 rear skittish under braking
In places where I was hard on the brakes on a set of matching 010's the rear was solid
In the same places doing the same braking the 020 rear was locking up and moving around presumably coz the centre compound was harder
(but hey, everyone knows skids are cool
)
That said the side grip was fine and I never had them let go exiting corners
HOWEVER,
my biggest gripe was that I think the side compound should be the same as the side compound on the 010 whereas it is correspondingly harder
As a consequence 010's wore out evenly across the tyre whereas the 020 flat spotted
Dunno if they've addressed that with the NEW 020 -the 021
