Re: Leaking oil through base of clutch slave cylinder housin

Ah yes, looking closer the hole is 'D' shaped and is actually on the sprocket cover itself. It runs flush with edge that the cylinder housing sits on if that makes sense. It is located at the very base of where the cylinder housing sits (ie nearest to the ground) which is why it seems intentionally ...

Re: Leaking oil through base of clutch slave cylinder housin

Hmmm. What about the little hole at the bottom of slave cylinder housing? It definitely looks to be there by design. There is no excess grease or oil from the chain as I thoroughly cleaned everything after putting the sprocket on and haven't ridden the bike since. It does seem like oil though becaus...

Leaking oil through base of clutch slave cylinder housing??

Hi all, Today I put a 15t front sprocket on my bike. In order to do this, I had to remove the front sprocket cover and the slave cylinder cover, and in doing so I managed to get a bunch of air into the lines (no worries, it bled out successfully). Putting the slave cylinder back on was hard because ...

Re: What a day....

Old thread I know, but... I have just fitted new braided lines and now cannot get pressure in the system. I believe there is no more air in the front lines themselves but rather the MC is full of air! A knowledgable storm owner on another forum suggested cracking the banjo bolt and 'bleeding' the MC...

Re: Aftermarket front master brake cylinder replacement?

@NZSpokes: that's what I'm hoping for by replacing my lines, pads and discs. I have no intention of replacing calipers and I ride like a grandpa anyway :-D

Re: Aftermarket front master brake cylinder replacement?

... and now having clarified I meant to say 'reservoir', can anyone answer my original questions regarding reservoir size/capacity and whether or not this impacts anything? Does it matter how large the reservoir capacity is? I feel like it shouldn't make a difference - the clutch reservoir is much s...

Re: Aftermarket front master brake cylinder replacement?

My apologies all - I am indeed talking about the reservoir pot!

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the input and links. Looks like Storm' parts are significantly cheaper to buy in the UK compared to Australia (though shipping is always a killer).

Cheers!

Re: Longer sidestand?

Is it possible to fit the stand without the extra sticky outy bit and is it still usable?

Aftermarket front master brake cylinder replacement?

Hi all, I've noticed some ageing and external cracking appearing on my front master brake cylinder. The inside appears fine but I am wondering if there is some very, very slight air starting to seep in through the external cracks that are invisible to my eye when looking on the inside of the cylinde...

I assume that you'll be making your way to Melbourne soon as well? It's got this week by Spring standards (30+ deg)!

Re: Newly fitted front disc is warped??

Thanks guys, I did take the disc off again and double check that the face was perfectly clean and unobstructed. I will loosen the wheel axle nut and fork pinch bolts and let the wheel align under its own weight as well and see if it's makes any difference. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Newly fitted front disc is warped??

Yep, I removed the disc and double checked that the surface was perfectly flat and clean. I really struggled to detect any wobble when putting the disc on the kitchen bench top consistently but did discover as a result that my laminate bench top is not perfectly consistently flat across its surface....

Re: Newly fitted front disc is warped??

Hey Watty, I had the bike up on stands and just followed the service manual procedures for refitting the wheel, which does not include doing what you said. I am new to learning engines/mechanics and am teaching myself from scratch using the firestorm, forums and the service manual! Should I loosen t...
