No mate, it's pretty heart breaking seeing where he died. Lots of people there obviously very upset. Very hard to keep the tears back. I couldn't read most of the comments on the cards and the barrier because it was too upsetting. The turnout here just shows what a well liked guy he was. You won't really be able to see but there are flowers tie wrapped and taped all the way along that barrier, and loads of hand written messages on it.

As for the donations, Ady and I spoke to Banksy and Daz from NWB and they will be passing on contact details so we can all put into one pot. His family need help, and I think with all the help he gave others, it's only fair we return the favour.

Some better photos here:

Me too again.

Thanks for the update and pics Ziggy. It's good to see the permanent marker on that wombles crash barrier. That's the Hippo that took him out. Safety my butt !!!

Guys current total is £450

Banksy just called me and told me about this evening, he is also going to give me details of Daz from NWBikers who is one of their MODS. Think they are going to try and organise a mass rideout in Bennys memory (details to follow)
NWBikers are also doing a collection and we will put both funds together to give to the family. We are also going to do a VTR wreath if everyone is in agreement.

Will keep posting on this thread as and when I hear anything.
If anyone wants to send personal flowers or letters of condolence to his family I have been given his address for this to happen. If you require it send me a PM

Good stuff Jazz, I've sent you 2 pm's so when you get a chance, message me back would you please. I''ve posted the link onto the the VTR FB page too so the guys on there can see it too.. I spent y'day in a daze and it took all day to take it in after my initial shock and bit of a cry, like most I would imagine. Martin was a real character, a chancer, a loveable tyke and rogue and everyone loved him who knew him.. I still can't believe he's gone..... Abb

that is a great summary of him  .......he was no saint, but his big heart, the fact that he would go out of his way to help another biker, even if he didnt know them, and his sense of houmour ......... this is what made him the man we remember
