Benny Update

Post by Jazzscot »

I'm sure as most of you know we have lost one of our family.

I think it only right and proper that the forum has a collection so that we can send some flowers to his family and also a wreath for his send off.

I hope I'm not being insensitive in posting this so soon after the tragic news but I feel it is important that we do something for one of our lost family.

I have asked Banksy to keep me informed about arrangements etc as I'm sure some of us would like to pay respects etc.

If you would like to contribute send me a PM and I will do it through my PayPal and will take it from there.

Edit Just got a message from Banksy saying one of the NWbikers moderators had been round to see Benny's Mrs. Turns out they don't have much and the family are requesting donations to help with funeral costs. I also was told that she wants to sell his firestorm stuff to help raise some cash.

If we could do our best for his family I'm sure it will be appreciated

Very sad day indeed Jazz

I think that's a good idea.

As well as that it wasn't long ago a mate of Martin's got killed over in the North West, and it really shook Martin up. He arranged a memorial bench to be situated over on the Cat & Fiddle, a lot of members of NWB chipped in and helped out.

Let's give it some time, but let's do something for him. I think he would like that. I am sure when the news sinks in, something will be arranged by his friends on there too.

I totally agree on both counts. I was juts thinking about the bench he sorted out for his friend 5mins ago. He was a huge part of this community and will be missed.

Some great ideas fella's

My initial concern was to get some flowers etc for the funeral from the forum members. After that we can think about what else we want to do.

If you want to donate PM me and I shall give you my PayPal address.

I will keep you updated with regards to totals etc.

Yeah, I'll put something in.

Maybe a ride of remembrance somewhere too?

Adyf and I are going to go across tonight and lay some flowers. Setting off from Tadcaster at 5.30pm, going in the car, if anyone wants to come along from this area and wants a lift, let me know.
