newb saying hello..

Post by sammo »

hello everyone, i have only just joined the forum but have been on here as a guest for about a month, thats when i got my pride and joy, i did however start to get a little worried about riding the bike after reading all you posts about cct's! but then i thought fook it and enjoy the ride.
so anyway, friday night, poped down to see a friend, and clack! there they go! came on here found out about david silver spares, phoned him for some new cct's, arrived tues, printed of the cct removal sticky, took em out moved the chain round a few teeth and poped em back in, pressed the button and she's off! runs better than ever now i cant hear that strange little rattle that used to bother me a bit! so i think i was very lucky, but now i feel too scared to ride it as i worrie that it will go again! its a 1999 and it has about 16500 miles on it. anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all your help on here,

Hi Sammo

Welcome, fairly new here myself. Similarly to you found it when my Storm was in trouble.... dodgy R/R! but now it has one off an R6 it's fine.

Sure some of the more longstanding fellas on here will welcome you too soon.

Graeme.

Welcome. If its any consolation my front CCT didn't go for 5 years and 35,000 miles. Now I have manual ones for peace of mind.

Welcome mate. I wouldn't worry about it too much now because now you know the noise they make when they're on the way out.
