opinions please

Post by Kitch »

I'm toying with the idea (just a fantasy at the moment - cash will dictate if it ever gets done) of having my 'storm painted up. (a friend is pro auto body sprayer)

I've always liked the SP2 colours Steve Plater ran in BSB... here's my artists impression of what it would look like:

worth doing? opinions on colours? frame/swingarm/forks powder coated or sprayed?

Looks pretty good mate! As for paint or powder coat, i'm led to believe powder coating is more robust and a better lasting finish to painting.
Keep us informed if you go ahead wi the re-spray.
Cheers,
Davie

Nice bit of Photo-shoppery there mate

That does indeed look mint

Other thoughts/ opinions
- Powdercoating is the best way to do the frame/ forks/ swingarm
- Consider doing the subframe black as well
- IMHO the wheels could do with 'lifting' a bit. Maybe the lighter gunmetal/ silver that some of the later Storms came with

If the cost of spraying is too high you could always get in touch with http://www.the-image-works.co.uk/

They did Dodds bike a while back (I think twas he -crap with names me!! )

And also do a vimto rep

Sure thing Kaz.

Anybody who wants photoshoppery done, just let me know. All depends on how good a job you want doing. I mostly do quicker stuff to the level of what you can see on here, though I can do much higher quality stuff, it takes a lot of time.

If you wanna post a pic on here Kaz and let me know how you want it.

Love the paint job and the powder coated swing arm/forks...
Leave off the Belly pan though - go for a Moriwaki style instead!! (in Carbon!!)

Heh... I don't mind, didn't say it'd get done

sent an enquiry to Bike Paints too, so I'll let you know what they come back with for anyone else who's thinking of painting stuff.
