Good race hey? pity it had to be re-started though. Glad John Hopkins was OK!
Anybody see the 125 race? 41 bikes started, amazing race with leaders chopping and changing all the time!

I haven't got Sky, so the BBC cutting it short really pissed me off! :x
Luckily a mate next door has so I saw the end at his house!
I've just e-mailed the bbc to complain so I'll let you know what they said.

bloody hell. the beeb really cut off the end of the race.. live?
I'm glad I totally missed it, that would have made my blood boil.

Imagine them cutting off the end of Eastenders or whatever other baldrocks show that eleventymillion UK households tune into. There'd be a riot.

I'm just glad that by being overseas I don't directly pay the BBC license fee anymore, it's all shite.

Which bit was cut short?
I watched the race finish on BBC then went out.
Watched God cross the line then the others.

They only cut it short in our area!
Humberside, it was cut off for rugby league!
Here is the reply I received when I complained.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding our coverage of the German Motorcycle Grand Prix on Sunday 31st July 2005.

We apologise to viewers in some regions of England for ending our coverage of the German Motorcycle Grand Prix during the last few laps of the race and switching to coverage of the rugby 'Super League Show'.

The rugby 'Super League Show' on Sunday was an outside broadcast from Huddersfield and is also very popular with viewers.

It is always difficult balancing different sporting interests when covering live events, and we recognise in hindsight this was not the right decision.

Please be assured that your disappointment has been registered for the attention of BBC Sport and the scheduling department concerned.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact the BBC.

Regards

Tamsin O'Brien
Head of Regional and Local Programmes
BBC Yorkshire

&

Dave Gordon
Head of Major Events
BBC Sport

Nice to get a reply but I still think they are a bunch of tossers!!
Motorcycle racing never gets the coverage it deserves on bbc .

I don't think they would of cut it short if foggy, Hodgeson or Bazza would of been racing at the front. Unfortunately that's what happens when the UK is not represented at the top level in MOTO GP. Oh yeah and a lack of money from sponsers. You don't see any British firms at the front of the racing.

I don't know if that would have made any difference :!: I remember back when Foggy had been World Champion again, expecting him to be Sportsman of the Year and it ended up going to a young and up coming footballer who'd actually scored in his own goal :!: Does anyone remember that :?: I think that was the "BBC Sportsman of the Year" awards :?:

Chris.

PS. Perhaps someone who's more up on sports, football etc would remember more about that :!:

I can remember that was it not Beckham? That was voted by old gits that could only vote on what they saw. Not much bike racing on the box at the time. But that was then and bikes have a bigger profile now. Don't forget that for TV we are only a small fraction of viewers. Lots of bikers don't watch bike racing. If it was a toss up of watching bike racing with no Brits or watching me footie team in a cup comp then football it would be.
