Nice new nuts for those studs would set it off. Shame no-one makes stainless ones, at least, I've never seen any.
It's an odd thread, M7 from memory, but I don't know whether it's standard or metric fine pitch.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yep, it's M7. I thought about buying some new OEM nuts, but the price was ridiculous 8O
The old ones are a bit scabby, but useable.

Decided to fit manual CCTs after reading all the advice on the Board.
I'll be taking the cam covers off, as I want to check the valve clearances as well.

I've read that chain slack should be set to between 5 and 7mm (once the timing is set at TDC on compression stroke).
But also read that some people experience chain noise at this setting, and tighten the adjuster slightly further.

Should I go for the tighter 5mm setting?

Also do people use Loctite or liquid gasket (silicone sealant) at the base of the adjuster bolt where the lock nut tightens?

I've bought these, allegedly UK made :think:
Please shout if you've used them, and they're no good before I get stuck in! :lol:

I've got a pair made by a former board member, now with 14k on them. I couldnt detect any difference in sound quality even at 'quite loose' :( Nor did I notice any difference auto (with savers) to manual and I'm usually tuned in to noises, hence my third go at the mainshaft bearing over Christmas, dont ask :?

I forgot to answer your question. Yes, aim for 6mm without leaning on it, just a medium effort total pull up/down.

Oh, forgot to say the fuel tap flows fuel in the OFF position (which was an unpleasant surprise when I pulled a hose off the tank).

Bought a TourMax repair kit from eBay to hopefully fix it.
