I have recently bought a Vtr 1000 -03 that has only traveled 30,000 km.
What an amazing bike the Vtr 1000 is.
I have understood that some had problems with cct.
Is it applies regardless of model year or it only applies to early year models ?

All years same issue.
Nice low milage bike you have but that would mean it's been sitting around unused for some time...rusty spring waiting to let go!
Check to see if the mod hasn't already been done.
If it's still got the origonal type CCT's advice is to change them...& change them quickly !

Scroll down to part 2 & it has pics of the origonal CCT & a replacment type.
It's a fairly easy job if your halfway mechaniacly minded, 2 to 3 hours. Read through the guide at least 3 times before picking any spanners up...
Then read it again just to be sure...
If you have to take it somewhere to be done...Honda dealers are unlike ly to fit them as they would rather sell you new std CCTs as ''there's nothing wrong with them...'' despite all the failiures.
A competant mechanic shouid be able to do it but get them to read the guide...It's not like doing it on an IL4 motor & it is easy to set the timing up wrong...Your bike will run but not very well...
Post a pic up of your bike right hand side close up around rear brake...
