Still employed...

Well it turns out that I didn't get sacked after all...

So back to the slog of commuting 36 miles in & 36miles home on a daily basis...

Been told to report back in on Wedensday @10.00...

Watch this space I still might tell them to fek off & pack it in...

I really don't think my fiddler...sorry manager...No I was right first time... will be very happy with the decision that I didn't get the boot.

It's gonna be fun meeting up with him again... NOT.

Well at least the decision is yours now mate. Good news that you’ve still got the job until you decide otherwise.

Trouble is If I hand my notice in I have to do 10 weeks notice... 8O

Which is a bit of an issue if any new job wants a position filled quickly...

According to my union rep if they had given me the sack they would of had to pay me 10 weeks money...

So I feel I would have been better off getting sacked...

10 wks notice is a long notice period, you must be more important than you realised Mac

IMHO you're better off not being sacked, regardless of the 10 weeks pay. What are you going to say when you go for an interview when they ask you where you last worked? and why did you leave? it only takes a phone call then.

You probably have a pension to consider as well. Ideally what you could do with is voluntary redundancy, as I think you've been there quite a time?
Probably no chance of that right now,

Chris.

As a manager myself, I'd say go on the sick with stress. Seems to work alright for my team πŸ˜‚

I think you should hang in there as you have a goodish package, excellent sickness cover and it is local government. Your far harder to sack than you realise. Also if they do, sack you that is, their case must be cast iron or a tribunal will find in your favour. It is very easy to muck up the process and you would stand a good chance of winning.
