New Stormer

Post by Kevved it »

Not long had the storm and doing a few things to it, mccts, TPS, blade forks etc.
I'm no mechanic but getting lots of help from a mate that is a mechanic. He's a time served car mechanic and just about to take over the garage he's worked at for years.
He's seriously getting into bikes both on and off them.
We think the valve stem seals are shot as I'm getting a lot of blue smoke at higher revs/overrun so that is getting done in the next week or so.
Any tips or advice on this will be appreciated and also get me back on that Storm I've fallen for. Cheers

Only use original Honda seals and gaskets.

Valve stem seals usually cause smoke from start up that clears after a while. As well as on the overrun like you say. worth checking the airbox doesn't have oil in it possibly causing similar symptoms, also check the oil level isn't too high, this won't help either and can indicate a problem with the fuel tap diaphragm which is a known issue on some bikes, the engine can then fill with petrol.
