New UK forum stormer with world's worst firestorm

Post by Cptorange »

Hi all, glad to join the forum. I live in Wiltshire, UK.
Used to have a firestorm years back and did lots of crazy things with it.

But have bought the worst one ever to challenge myself :/ Contemplating on losing the horse saddle before it sees the track
Gonna need some help with this one.!

You've got your work cut out, but everyone loves a tryer
Suggest you get the engine running first, if the engine doesn't run it's probably going to cost you more to get that bike to track spec than buying a shabby runner and some track fairings.
I can see one hose missing, are the rest there?

That missed seat and subframe will sell to some poor deluded soul trying to make a silk streetfighter out of a sows ear.

Good luck, and keep us up to date with progress.

Ps. Good choice of bin...
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Haha, that was a pic from the lad's house I got it from.

It looks a fair bit different now. Just waiting for my Nitron R2 shock, been waiting 5 weeks :(
There has been some many bodges on it, it's not a problem unwinding them, but trying to find out how deep they went.
I pulled out 20 bits of metal from the sump, chemical metal on the engine cases, wrong bolts everywhere, wrong linkage bolts/collars, the list goes on!

I need a set of track fairings if anyone has any, even scruffy.

I don't quite understand this forum yet, can't seem to respond to anything, PM's or reply to ad's etc :eh:

Please take a look at our Forum Rules from this link:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19054

Rule (11) in particular to your query:

11. Due to abuse of the Sales and Wants section by some previous new members, it is now mandatory that you have 50 posts before you are allowed to post in that section of the forum. Anybody trying to get around this by posting sales in the wrong place will have their posts deleted, try it a second time and their account will be deleted automatically. No questions asked. Also, posting trivial posts just to reach the 50 will also result in your account being deleted.

Chris (aka Sirch345 Admin).

PS. Welcome aboard

Thanks for the info/offers. I'm not very good with terms/conditions/rules haha ;)
I used to race a 97 with NGRRC/New Era bitd/ Had some great and disastrous results at the same time, actually got ran over at Cadwell hairpin, when the front folded. Was a nice bike though, KAIS forks, slicks, Ohlins and Dymags, Harris rearsets etc. Wish I still had all the bits! Performance bits seem thin on the ground.
