Hi all,

Never owned a Firestorm before, but a few months ago a mate sent me an ebay link with the immortal words "I think this is the sort of thing you would be interested in".

Now the owner of an ex Honda Britain/Reveloution racing, Mark Ditchfield bike (and ex Yeti!!!) that has survived in very original condition - and that is what attracted me to it. Has loads of period parts and looks (apart from the paint scheme) very close to how the bike was raced in the day:-

Spondon modified frame
Spondon swing arm - Q/R front and rear wheel cups
Spondon front and rear subframes
Spondon yokes (3 sets for different steering angle)
Dymags
Penske shock
Ap 6 pot calipers front, Harris rear
Moriwaki carbon air box, fairing, air tubes and I believe the exhaust system (now cerakoted) and cans.
Moriwaki carbs with ally velocity stacks
Cannot be 100% what is in the engine but I suspect hi comp pistons/Stg 2 cams - Has been extensively ported.

Well on with a sympathetic recommissioning rather than a "polish everything" and luckily the spend to date has been quite reasonable with no hidden horrors found.

Sounds awesome (bit loud as still got to repack cans and get soe baffles) and spins up so quickly.

Looking forward to a few classic track days this year.

Pics are a bit out of date but at least show the bike in all it's modified glory!!!

If anybody would like specific pics of anything - Just ask.

Keith

The exhaust is a Mori Stg2 system. You can tell by the modified oil pan

Welcome in Keith. I saw the bike when I bought my stage 2 off the same guy. Part of me wishes I'd bought your bike instead but it didn't fit with my plans.

It's a stunning bike and I'm glad it's gone to someone who's going to use it. Let us know when you're out on track. I'd love to ride with you. Classic Bike Track Days are the guys to go with. You're probably familiar with them.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments - Appreciated.

Not too much left to do before it is track ready - Wiring needs a good checking etc and the tank rinsing, new Tsubaki chain fitting and then it should be good to go.

Think I may have found out why she was a bit on the loud side (to say the least) - This wafer thin glass mat sheet is all that was left of the wadding in the cans 8O - Refilling with Acoustafil and some new rivets required.

Freeridenic - Tried to message you but cannot seem to manage it!! Yes - I hope to take it to a few of the Classic Bike Track day events for a roll around - Hoping my track 900ss is also ready for a proper thrash - Not sure I want to risk too much on the VTR............
