Saying hello is normally the right way to start !.
As you failed in this regard I'll say hello and welcome .

As for the blade front end I have a question for you .
What year front end is it that you'll like to fit as they started to make the blade from 1992 to the presant day ?

fitting of 92-96 fireblade forks doesn´t make much sense unless you have better lower triple. 97-98 is better, but wider, you need spacers for brake discs ... Newer upside down are complete front end swap including wheel.

92-96 is straight swap, where 95-96 forks have adjustable compression damping, and 92-94 rebound only, same as vtr.

Welcome aboard Boonce

I thought with pre 1997 Firelade forks you can use the VTR disc's, newer Firelade forks require the Fireblade disc's unless I'm mistaken, and spacers made up as Stephan says.
Good luck with the conversion,

Chris.

Right whislt we are on the subject....

Not mine but info required for a non member...

Apparently 98 blade forks, from what I can gather on here but what I need confirming...

These fit with the std wheel, spindle & brakes.

Need different headstock ? & need the spaces made shorter is that correct ?

I need to know for sure as I want his std disks, hes been told he needs the 310 discs but the spec sheets I've found show 98 blade to be 296mm discs same as the Storm...

Mac, I have dug out my paperwork I saved from Shaun Pallister's site (no longer available now) (http://www.vtwo.demon.co.uk/firestorm/bladeforks.htm) on how to carry out Fireblade fork conversion. Here's a list of the parts he listed that you would require (see below). That fits in with my previous post on pre 1997 Blade forks:-

Exactly, meaning as I posted above he'll need the disc's from the Blade as well for 1998 forks, and different spacers. 1996/97 you can use the Storm's disc's.

Here's a link backing up what I have been thinking:-

What 310mm blade discs or std Storm ?

I need a pair of Std discs if they are for sale...
