a bit of spondoness.
a bit of spondoness.
well iv been waiting a few years to be able to say that .
long story short. been wanting a special vtr for many years and by pure chance seen a small add for a bit of a munter vtr. had a wee peep at it and well feck me pink wasnt there a spondon bike sitting under the dirt. wheres theres muck there brass as they say.
set of and drove 12 hrs to see a bike id only one picture of, arrived and was greeted by this thing pulled outa a corner . dear god . so bad points are its been a few years unloved and a few bits have been robbed from it. a set of wonky clocks cable tied onto it, a set of standard cans on it and a light dusting of fur on the alloy ..
good points. it fired up first time and standard engine sounds sweet and runs the best, the swingarm is huge and correct. its got a good proflex rear shock and the forks must have been worked on cause they feel nice. the frame has the ears and the internal bracing all correct and theres a lot of it . the wheels are rather large Dymags in briiliant shape, harris rear brakes good, rearsets are in good shape,
looking past the grime and dirt theres a good solid bike under it and its now owned by a proper vtr pervert( i blame you fecking guys for causing that)
its gona be a bit of a road to get this looking proper but its gona happen, iv had some great advice from folk on here about whats needed and what to check for..
pictures and build to follow when i wake up here and stop staring at it....
so here we go..
