TPS mod

Post by mik_str »

Who has tried the TPS mod and what was the outcome? My 99 Storm runs fine now so I was wondering if it was worth the effort to do the mod. A local mechanic who is apparently well versed in VTR issues said the mod was a waste of time. Anyone?

I'm not sure if it's a mod as such, its just checking that the TPS is set right, the bikes seem to leave the factory with them set all over the place.

There was quite a few discussions regarding measuring the TPS outputs and adjusting them, this included widening the slot to allow a greater movement. Can't give you the full low down on it but the info is on this site somewhere and it would be worth trawling around to find it, There was also some "fors and against" as it retards the ignition but the concensus was that it made the bike alot smoother and useable at the lower end of the rev range.

Best I can do guys
