Yep, but watch the grade. 5W30 is a bit thin, even in winter. It's no problem but you'll go through more.Jamoi wrote:Castrol Power 1 semi synth, every 5k miles.
With these engines almost all oil use is piston ring blowby, seldom valve stem seals.
If you have a smoky engine, hone and fit new rings, problem solved.
Pistons are ok to reuse unless very marked, but of that's the case the bores will also need an oversize.
Off topic, me?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: Oil
I'm using Rock at the moment.
I found one of the most difficult things was to find some good information about what oil is right for your bike. A lot of the oils for newer models have either the wrong additives or too many and so it goes on
. The last thing I want to do is waste my money on the latest and greatest oil and then find ut it's doing my bike no good at all
Rock have a ......wait for it......some will find this more useful that others (Virt).....lubricant selector
Im pretty sure it only works on bikes and its not for a$$es (Lloydie)
but it does save you chucking your cash away on needless top of the range oil when your bike doesn't require it
Have a look http://www.rockoil.co.uk/cm/lubricant-selector

missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
