Is it worth buying a different colour and..

Post by Craig »

I'm still struggling to find a decent red VTR for sale, I've found one which I'm waiting more details on, but the price seems a bit high..

I see cheaper silver or black VTR's on ebay, they seem to be cheaper than red ones :? would it be worth buying a silver one and then buying red plastics and tank for it??? Or is that just a silly idea?

Red plastic isn't cheap (as I've just found out) for the left upper fairing alone you're looking at 200 inc VAT. Red plastic is also as rare as rocking horse s**t it would seem, because my new bits aren't going to be here until the middle of Jan at the earliest!

I'd say hold of for a red'un.

I'm going to wait and look for a red'un then, but going to buy some cheap whatever colour plastics for using when messing about stunting... for when I drop it

Any idea if you can get engine bars/cage for these?

The only place I've seen engine bars is here. They're not pretty, and not cheap (though they're getting cheaper by the day, as they're priced in US$). They do look strong enough to take any abuse you could throw at them.

if you are planning to stunt it and know you will be dropping it, does it realy matter what colour it is, it'll end up with different panels on it, scuffed and dented till you stop dropping it as much and want to repaint the whole bike to cover up the learning mistakes.
paint it red then.

Ok, so red is the fastest, black is the coolest and orange is red trying to be yellow.

But blue (2002) is the CLASSIEST.

PS Yellow is just the yellowest.
