A cautionary tale!!
A cautionary tale!!
Lot's of advice on here about maintenance
One area that most will shy away from will be the swing arm
The "wise ones" suggest checking the bearings once a year
Whilst this may be a bit much for most, perhaps 5 years would be a good idea
Certainly not 16 years as is the case with mine!!
Shock linkage bearing
I had to cut the bolt to remove the linkage from the swingarm
Then use a socket to drift out the bits that didn't fall out!!!

They will be alright...bit of T-cut will sort it out no Wocking Furries...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
Re: A cautionary tale!!
Mine came out in similar condition. 1 complete bearing, 1 multiple piece. Shaft scrap bolt damaged, seals scrap. I priced all parts from local shop (via honda) around £50. Complete unit £140 .
rob de hoo (vtrdh on forum) could source genuine parts for a better price. His website http://www.exhausist.com
i was changing swingarm for a painted black one. Only cam across it by chance. Posted at the time on here & facebook
no happy endings for anyone. Many similar stories & pictures

yikes, that is one of the worst ones I have seen.......... that's what you get for doing your maintenance on the same slow schedule as your café racer project

That's a bit strong. Chris must be the politest person on this forum, so polite it's in-polite I'm guessing he was thinking that you should know bloody better. Well, maybe not the bloody, but I will add that in as I was thinking the sameFlatline wrote:sirch345 wrote:Shame on you, if you're responsible for that
