Is my clutch failing???

Post by Neophyte »

The last few days my 'Storm's clutch is making a light clunk sound while I release it. It's especially noticable at pull-away or at slow speed use. Also, this morning at pull-away after a hard stop, I had to try two or three times to pull away as the clutch just 'grabbed' but also with a squeeling type noise.

Any answer will be appreciated.

might sound obvious or daft but hows the clutch fluid level ?
it may be clever, but its not big.

Check in order of cheapness to repair...

1) Fluid,
2) Is the "other end" fastened on securely, ie the piston bit that pushes the rod ?
3) Thrust bearing shaft nice and slippy ??
4) thrust bearing ok ?

I had a similar thing on mine, it was "grabby" felt like I was letting the clutch in and out two or three times before it would grab properly,

FIX.... £8.00 worth of EBC clutch springs and 20 mins to swap em,
also theyare 20% stronger than stock.

hope this helps,
