Slip on can issue(anniversary Etd help needed)

Post by Mike_0001 »

Hi Guys

Anybody out there replaced the Remus Slip ons on an anniversary Etd firestorm? Seen some lovely cans at SP Engineering - they sell them with 50.9mm, 60mm or 63mm inlets. Had the Remus ones off today for a measure and the diameter of the inlet appears to be 53/54mm??
Am I doing something wrong? Noticed that the link pipe seems different on the anniversary too, it's welded to the headers and is noticeably fatter, looks like the Harris rear sets are attached to the link pipe also.
Was hoping it would be simple, but it could be me being dumb

the Harris rear sets are attached to the link pipe also.
They all do that. On standard storms the link pipes are attached to the bottom of rearsets.

You say the link pipes are welded. Have you un done the clamps and tried to remove them. I take it there are clamps there! You maybe mistaking a weld for the (mmm hard to explain). Where the link pipes go onto the header there is a ring that is part of the header which acts as a stop when sliding the link pipe on.

I may be wrong but I thought the inlet diameter on these is 51mm.

Hope that is of some help.

No clamps there!! I will have another look in the daylight tomorrow. Was hoping the inlet would be 51mm but it is definitely bigger :(

It's possible to get adaptors made from any given system diameter to any inlet pipe diameter, bigger or smaller.
Try googlimg stainless steel adaptors. (mij engineering, from memory)

Nope, try this one:

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
