Unless you're gunna mount them on something metal and they have a metel case I dont think they will work just like that. Most need a supply and return(live&earth) to work. Are you sure there's not a metal bolt running through the centre which is connected to the bulb? If there is it does'nt matter which way around the connections go as long as one goes to the center bolt and the othergoes to the lead the bulb does't mind, it will work either way around.

ah ha, all becomes apparent - i think.....

yup, metal housing, metal bolt........

so does that mean i'll have to earth them out? when i bolt them onto the existing holes, using the metal plate, will they be ok for use? (i dunno), or will i have to earth to the framework somewhere?????

or do i have to connect one of the orig wires to the indidcator bolt?

One of the original wires to the bolt and one to your black wire should do the trick but only if you are connecting the whole indicator to plastic.
If it's going to be attatched to anything metal you had better find a multi-meter and work out which is positive and which is negitive(earth/frame)
Sorry shold have been more clear the frst time. I hope this makes more sence.

From memory, I think the earth/ground wire is green on both sides (if not, it's black). All Honda earths / grounds are black, green, or both.
If you earth the bracket / post, then just connect the wire that's not green/black to the black wire on your new indicators (IIRC, it's light blue on one side, and orange on the other). Otherwise, make up a wire with a washer or circle connector on one end, and bolt this underneath the indicator so it makes contact with the metal part. Connect this to the green and/or black wire on the bike. Connect the wire on the indicator to the other wire (orange / light blue), and you're good to go.

Hope this helps.

Cheers all, think i've got it right in my head now.....

one problem though, got told i would have to change the bulb to a 21w as it wont work properly.....

Is this right????

if so, anyone know where to get them from, i tried local dealer + local "motormania" shops last night, no-one could help, largest they could offer was 4w......

(what ever happened to simple bolt on replacements???)

Ian,

what wattage bulbs are in then now? if it's less than 21w then the indicators (fronts too) will falsh at a faster (well fast) rate. I can get and install a couple of high power resistors in each circuit to make then flash at the correct rate and dissipate the heat too.

Both.

It's noticable like double the speed or more and an MOT failure too.

Easy enough to do though, so that's just under £300 to you mate.
