bodywork repair...
part one - road rash.
road rash form gravel and tarmac causes nasty scratches and abrasions.
body filler and paint aren't always the answer.
this scab is 3 weeks old and is really thick and crusty and was getting on my nerves.
every time i knelt down i could feel it cracking and pulling the new skin underneath so it had to go.
tools of the trade.
an 80 grit sanding disc, p800 wet&dry, stanley blade & vaseline moisturiser...
the 80 grit was a bit harsh, but helped remove the tough crusty top of the scab.
next the p800 wet&dry - ah that's better, bit smoother.
with small circular movements it cut through the scab like butter and didn't take long to get a nice smooth finish.
next a coating of vaseline intensive care moisturiser to soften the scab.
i left this to absorb for a while so it could easily be peeled off, leaving fresh new skin underneath, ready for my next crash.
the finished repair - will probably leave a slight scar but never mind.
(the other scar btw is where i got shot - don't ask!)
it's still got a little stone in it but i'll pick that out later.
next week, removing ingrown toenails with a dremel and bursting black nails with a hot pin.

Re: bodywork repair...
