First, check that you've put the pipes back onto the tank the right way.

Then re-check the vacuum, line- needs to be on the 9 o'clock exit from the petrol vacuum tap.

Then check you've turned the petrol tap back on.

Sorry 'bout these, but they've caught most of us out one time or another.

If it started ok, it's not the mechanical bits you've done, more likely fuel.

Outside chance it's electrical, especially as you haven't mentioned a problem before.

Any noises?

cheers for reply .
Just been out for the last hour in the pissing rain trying to figure this out and diff think its a fuel problem!
Petrol is on and bike is starting ok apart from rear cylinder seems to be coming on and off and bike seems to run better with choke on, but still not coming on to that cylinder properly(the back cylinder, the one closest to the seat)
As far as i can see theres 3 pipes connected to the tank the 2 big ones on the left and right and a smaller one going in to about the middle of the tap itself.
at least the cam chains sound quiet lol
Would there be a chance that when i put the cct's in and turned the engine over with the t-bar that i misread something and put the timing out?

Not if it sounded fine for the first few minutes. Mine's got 5 lines from the tank, one for each carb , the vacuum, and not 100% but I think the other is a breather (same size as the vacuum) and another large one which I think might be a drain for the filler cap. You haven't mixed up the two smaller ones?

Yep, the medium sized one is a a drain from the filler cap, which goes onto the pipe which pokes down out of the tank base.

On mine, the other one which fits onto the exit pipes under the tank starts off larger, but ends in a smaller diameter bit of pipe. This one goes to the smaller of the two which pokes down under the tank.

The smallest one goes form the front cylinder directly to the 9 o'clock pipe at the rear of the fuel tap.

if this one isn't connected properly it gives exactly the symptoms you describe.

It looks as though it could also if it goes onto the drain pipe at the rear of the fuel tap which points directly downwards; it doesn't. Nothing connects there.

Just checked the pipes again and they all seem normal!
there are 3 pipes, (2 big that are angled like an L shape and one small one)

I have tried to do a drawing to show you how it looks and its by no means a masterpiece drawing lol

the drawing shows the underside of the tank looking straight at it oh and i forgot to put the metal caps on the new cct's !
hope i haven't fooked up my storm by being paranoid about the cct's lol

It looks like you've put the small hose on the wrong place if you look at the fuel tap there,s another place it can go it's not the one that points down but the other one.
When I took the CCTs out of mine the metal caps weren't there, and they had been in there for five years and 16,000 miles.
