Nice one Lloyd...unlike mine :( . On that note I got both wheels off and all bearings removed ready for new one's to go in tomorrow. The are in the freezer overnight.

Quick question the sprocket carrier bearing (the big one 8O ) I think may be original as it has some kind of spacer built into it :confused The aftermarket one does not have this and looks like a normal bearing, flush on both sides! I presume this is OK without the spacer thing as I cant really see what difference that makes as there is already the spacer in the wheel. Is this normal?

You need to remove the spacer and fit it to the new bearing Carlos or the new bearing will collapse when you tighten the wheel up.

Thank Carl it's been 6 1/2 months since my last ride on the frog and I still managed to pull a wheelie :-)

Oh wombles that's not going to be easy :eek2 may have to get the angle grinder or Dremmel out. I tried separating it earlier and it seemed like one piece as it was so tight in there.

Use two sockets ! One to sit the outer bearing on and the other to fit on top on the spacer from the small end and tap it out with a hammer

Head is now in the engineering shop. Will work on the nasty welds on the headers this weekend.

Can't find my angle grinder  I have a bad feeling it's at the Pineapples house.

This is what I have to deal with.

As you can see there is not much to get a socket on :(

This looks very much like the spacer has cold-welded itself to the bearing.
(i.e.rusted to it)

Can't you separate them?

Try clamping the bearing in a vice, then putting a wheel spindle into the spacer and levering it.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I took the fairing and belly pan off, drained coolant, pulled clutch cover off, adjusted gearchange lever, fitted my own clutch cover with Carbonadi cover fitted to it, thought about fitting the ignition advancer but I'll leave it until I do the whole engine, rebuilt, parked it up, 3 hours, took longer because it's cold in the garage.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
