what have you done to your "bike" today

Ordered all my parts today including bushes. I didn't want to take the forks apart only to find I need new ones and then have to wait for them to turn up, so ordered new ones anyway. The fork oil was not cheap, I decides to buy the Silkoline Pro RSF Race fluid. I probably got sucked into the marketing blurb there but most of time you get what you pay for in life.

Well yes to a point...... It does make a difference but some of them can be a little over the top.
Silkoline is good stuff and I have run it in the past.

Now, in my bike I run Pro Honda 5wt
I tried it on the advice of my suspension guy who set up the Ohlins valves in my forks and his opinion on running $36 a liter Ohlins oil was just silly and the Honda stuff works just fine.

As he is kind of like having Roger give you advice, of course I tried it and of course it works very well.

So if you are looking for a high quality 5wt oil the Honda fluid is one of the best you can run and has a reasonable price also......

Cable tied the Bike-It number plate bracket on, as it's fractured once more- same place as the last one. At least I didn't lose the plate this time.

stripped another spare set of carbs that i got off ebay for £10 .
they were seized solid but good for many parts as they have only covered 6k .
the main bodies are in the bin but all else can be used tbh i only want them for the slides and tps

today i say goodbye to my beloved sp2
absolutely lovely bike in every respect apart from ive killed it a bit.
if the right one comes along at the right price in the future, i'd definately have another.
sat here waiting for the new bike atm!

Went for a nice morning ride out, up the A153, A158 stopping at Hagworthingham for a coffee and then down the A16 and A17 to home. She rode beautifully all the way!!

Cleaned and built a set of carbs up .
I fitted these with standard main jets 48slow jets and dyno jet needles .
The 6k slides and slide seats with one lift hole in the front and two rear and new slide springs :-).
The needles are set to standard hight but raised by half a clip .

I put the standard needle along side the dyno jet needle and I'm shocked to see the the dyno needle needs to be on the bottom clip (closest to the pointy end) to be the same hight .

I'm going to try and set this set of carbs for the bigger airbox but still using the standard air filter with the covers (triangles) removed .

had a tinker with my sidestand as the little arm thing that sticks out, was bent, this goes back to when i had the larger ti headers on the bike, the arm thingy had to be re-shaped to fit.
its pretty much back to standard now, i've also been playing with some aftermarket mirrors and repairing a spare lhs mirror.
had a visit from the jackel, we adjusted my chain as it was slightly loose.
i'm still waiting for my new numberplate to arrive, so i can't go for a ride in this beautiful weather until it gets here....

Also started to sort out the breather pipes to a catch tank proper this time :-)

I feel your pain bsm I won't be on mine till tomorrow but then its only carb testing as I need a new rear tyre :-(

Just got my sidestand welded ala Mac style so my heel wont slip off and given it a coat of paint.

Lloyd if you have an old shite carb body it would be interesting to get it cut down (dissect) the middle into to halves so we can see all the inside channels.
