bollox, I feel your pain, is there absolutely no way of getting the bolt out without taking the engine out?

You nincompoop why not have just placed a rag down the tunnel & have a magnet at the ready :oops:

Try fishing around with one of those extendable magnets or drop the sump cover first before you remove the engine. Never know, may get lucky :thumbup:

im in Hereford mate. I am gonna start with taking the sump off first and hope to god it is lying in the bottom of there otherwise its engine out and a full rebuild sh1t sake

lol I thought of that after I dropped it and thought yep u Richard why not put a rag down the side. and I have been fishing all day with a magnet im never going fishing again lol

What side did it fall down ?
You might get it from only removing the side cases

Take the sump off and see if it can be found in there or give you better access.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
