Yeh the Halfrauds one will do the job I ended up doing the same http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255216

A magnetic pick up tool is handy as well, for lifting plugs out amongst other things.

I doubt you caused any damage in 10 miles. A bit of extra stress and strain on the one doing the work. It would run rough on one cylinder though, no surprise there.

Yes, it's the bad cylinder kicking in briefly, and no, you haven't done any damage.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Halfords visit today to buy spark plug removal device!

My simple 'plug diagnosis' made: at first, rear cylinder not firing as when front HT lead removed, engine doesn't run. So plugs swapped around. Bike runs. Front HT lead removed again, engine doesn't run.

So. I guess plugs aren't the issue though ordered 2 new ones as spares! What next and how? HT leads faulty? Coil? And is it easy enough to continue diagnosis myself? Any tips? As I've got 80 flat packed medium sized packing boxes in my garage (anybody want them before Mon!?) I think I'll have to wait for more garage space!

I got the biggest back fire earlier on. Bloody hell!!

Hope workshop day went well? Wish I could have been there!

Griff.

Nope, wasn't me that wanted them.
I've no room in my garage either.

Hahaha. Nice one Tony! Boxes gone now, got the garage back!

Right. It was the rear coil!!!

Gave bike to RM Motorcycles of Beverley this am and the brief was - you only have it for an hour!!£££. So I get a call saying its the rear coil and they are happy me ordering off eBay to be sent to them. Done. £15 delivered. Pick up Fri.

They said its running fine with coil swapped, just on rear cylinder now so def the coil. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just want to get it back & give it a good clean- it needs it!!

Strange for the vacuum pipe to come loose then the coil go?! Is it?

I might get it dyno'd for interest. Any good places in Yorkshireshire that anybody's knows of? Or am happy to travel.

Anyway, a happier Griff (though I'll be happiest if I'm blasting around on it this Fri eve!).

Griff. Oh Carl, ta for that. Ace.

Good news mate, that must be a relief. Could just be a coincidence the coil going at the same time. Electrics are a funny thing and can just go at any time when you don't need them to.

At least the sun will be shining for your next ride out.
