 They wouldn't be a lot of use for working on bikes etc if they were 7mm thick would they :)

I've had a look online, apparently a "MIL" is one thousandth of one inch  So that means they are 7thou in thickness.

Chris.

today I have had my front calipers off to see what they looked like . I fitted all 4 pads last year and all 4 were wearing evenly which says to me they are doing ok. I also loosened all the pistons up and cleaned everything up.

I also wanted to check backward/forwards movement on the forks. there was no knocking/movement

to do all this I had to hang it off the garage roof with a jack and a bit of wood under the sump.

Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the front master cylinder. Noticed months ago that the rubber boot had split and fancied a go at refurbishing it.
Feels smoother and has a more solid feel now.

I like your inventiveness lumpy but it might be worth investing in one of these...

I use one and it's perfect for the job. Got to be worth £65 of anyone's money, just to save the hassle (and risk) of dangling the bike off your rafters!

Took the mille out for a spirited ride yesterday. Only 60 miles but damn it was fun. Even better news is that after not wearing my new helmet for a week or so it seems to have bedded in and isn't hurting at the moment :biggrin it's a comfy tight now :D

Not my bike - but serviced and pampered a friend's little CG125 ready for MOT and subsequent sale.

Running out of room in my back garden; what with bikes, baths and bins galore!
