Yeah we have come on in leaps and bounds since signing the Lisbon treaty.

Everything went so well after that.

I wasn't sure where to post this. The first half is not quite as relevant but an interesting insight to our past which may shed some light on things. The second half is Democracy related. I'm sure we will be still doing arms deals (our biggest export) whether we are in the EU or Not.

Treat it as entertainment.

Want out, you're clearly illiterate and a racist and unable to decide for yourself...
Tell me I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure we're a democracy (unlike the EU). What do you think will happen when the Government (the one the champagne-socialist middle-class luvvies have been voting for blindly for decades) tries to take away all of those rights? Are all the stay campaigners going to just refuse to vote, to strike, to march? Are you really that pathetic? Or is it just easier to keep voting for your favourite colour and hoping the EU will solve all or your problems, for a price?
OMG! That's what they do in this country. In fact I was telling a friend that if a referendum like this were held in the US the first thing they would do is call everyone who was for getting out a bigot, a raciest and an idiot. The news, which around here might as well be a government run agency, would be all over doom and gloom scenarios and character assassination of those that didn't toe the line. Then were would be some voting irregularities like lost ballets in key district or a change in voting places. If the vote didn't go their way they would take it to court to have in nullified. You see "there are things too important to be left up to the people!"

Precisely Jim. The remain campaign are superior, they know what is best for the rest of us plebs and will enact their will for our own sake. Exactly the same as the EU.
While I don't agree with some of Trump's ideas he's only resonating with a fed-up populace. His job is made easier by the constant slagging off of his supporters. Nobody will be swayed to your cause by calling them names!

The biggest mistake they make is in the assumption that the opposition is just stupid, uneducated or ignorant. This causes them to underestimate their opposition time and time again.

What I like about Trump is that he is taking the fight to them. He has blown politically correct speech wide open and he has made it possible to speak freely in spite of the left's cries of racism and bigotry. He speaks his mind, he doesn't care what they think and it is driving everyone but the voters crazy. He looks like he is enjoying himself too.

Trump is not stupid. The media in this country has marveled at the skillful way that he has played everyone from the start of his campaign (the media called it a joke and a stunt) to his strong showing with Republican votes. People are sick of being told what they must think. We are told to ignore the evidence of our own eyes while unbridled immigration destroyers our very culture. This is not racism. This is culture.

On the EU vote: Whether you are in or out of the EU, you will continue to be our friend and ally and our worthless president be damned. You do what you think is best for your people and your country. That is all that matters. Britain was great before the EU and Britain is great still.

Nice one Jim, had it not been for you guys, the Canucks, and our Commonwealth then the rest of Europe would probably already be speaking German. That's what annoys me about immigration too - we didn't all clear off to the US/Canada/Oz in 1939 did we, yet all these migrants seem to be young men who should be fighting for their country against IS and the like instead of reducing our country to the same kind of backward sh1t-hole they are coming from.

The flip-side is that the Polish/Czech/French/Belgian/US guys who came over here and flew in the Battle Of Britain and their decedents will always be welcome. I'm not aware of any Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Syrians, Albanians, Romanians or Turks volunteering to help us in our time of need.

Well the Romanians wouldn't as they were part of the Axis pact...

Bangladesh & Pakistan didn't exsit till after India won Independance after the war but India as a whole* did play a big part in the fight against the Axis powers.

Over 87,000 Indian soldiers (including those from modern day Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh) died in World War II

Interesting read below about the INA...

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Hindus and Sikhs, be fighting the next world war against the Muslims no doubt. Osborne getting nervous now, looks increasingly desperate.

MR Cameron you are a prize rock..

i seen him on the news tonight blabbing off about how N.Ireland will be Britains only land border with the EU.... correct we will then he goes on to say we will need border controls in Scotland and Wales for people coming to the mainland from for N.Ireland???? excuse me Richard but if you check the map you will find NI is attached by land to the south? its an ISLAND ,the clues in the word island. or has he given this country away and forgot to tell us lol..

id be in the out camp after the last week or so of hearing the bull the remain gang are pumping out. Britain managed not to bad before the EU im sure we could make a stab at it again.

A third of the "British" troops on the Western Front in 1914 were Indian. There were also thousands of Somalis, Kenyans etc. The French used Algerians and Moroccans. The myth that we "stood alone" is just that, a myth.

There is no myth about it, MOST people know about this, however it wasn't as selfless as people would imagine in the case of WW2, British troops were also fighting to stop the advance of Imperial Japanese troops as they slowly but surely made their way to India/Pakistan and so forth, and for the these Asian countries to gain true independence Something of which my grandfather fought for, however everyone should recognise the sacrifice these people made to also defend our homeland and way of life, which cemented them having the right to settle in Britain.
